PGF Man­ager laid to rest

LAHORE—Man­ager Golf, Pak­istan Golf Fed­er­a­tion (PGF), Mo­ham­mad Riaz was laid to rest on Fri­day in his na­tive town Attock.

By virtue of his as­so­ci­a­tion with the na­tional golf body of Pak­istan for over 30 years, Mo­ham­mad Riaz had played a piv­otal role in or­ga­ni­za­tion of golf re­lated mat­ters and other as­so­ci­ated golf ac­tiv­i­ties in the coun­try. Riaz served the Pak­istan Golf Fed­er­a­tion dili­gently and ef­fi­ciently and was al­ways avail­able to help golfers. Dur­ing his long stay with the PGF, he was al­ways po­lite, truth­ful and a strong ad­vo­cate of golf pro­mo­tion and de­vel­op­ment.

He al­ways lis­tened to the ques­tions of the golf pro­fes­sion­als and lead­ing golf am­a­teurs and an­swered them with a pos­i­tive body lan­guage. The ded­i­ca­tion was vis­i­ble in his ev­ery move and ac­tion. Over the past few decades, he has worked with Pres­i­dents of PGF like Gen Shamim Alam Khan, Lt Gen Naseer Akhtar,Lt Gen Mo­ham­mad Tariq,Gen Ash­faq Per­vaiz Kayani and lately Lt Gen Zaheer ul Is­lam.

For­mer Hon­orary Sec­re­taries of PGF like Col Amin Ma­lik,Wing Com­man­der Iftikhar Ahmed Khan,Lt Col Ha­mayun Rashid,and Taimur Has­san, and other PGF of­fice bear­ers like Col Jameel Khalid, Mehmood Aziz, Brig Shahid Wa­hab Rao and Fakhar Imam when con­tacted spoke highly of the ded­i­cated ser­vices ren­dered by late Mo­hammed Riaz.—APP
