Spinner Faraz five wick­ets haul helps Ta­pal win

KARACHI—Left Arm Spinner Faraz Ahmed was on song with a five-wicket haul as Ta­pal Cricket Club beat host Aga Khan Gymkhana in 29 AKG Ra­mazan Fes­ti­val T-20 cricket tour­na­ment in Group “A” fix­ture here on Thurs­day.

The sea­soned Slow-lef­t­armer grabbed five wick­ets con­ced­ing mere 17 runs in four overs to re­stricted Aga khan gymkhana on 132 with loss of 7 wick­ets in 20 overs af­ter the bat­ing first.

Cap­tain Mir Afzal Baig was the pun­ish­ing mood struck 70 off 51 balls with four hug sixes and a four but he failed to save his team from de­feat, Zul­fiqar Ali made 31 in 43 balls. Off spinner Yasir Hus­sain took 2-22.

Ta­pal CC, in re­ply, reached the tar­get 136 with loss of 3 wick­ets in 17.3 overs. Thanked to Se­hyar Ghani 52 from 37 de­liv­er­ies ( four fours and two sixes), and Cap­tain Zee­shan Jameel 52 from 48 balls (two fours and brace of sixes), they made 126 runs for the Third wicket. Off spinner Saud Is­lam took 2 wick­ets for 19 runs.

Faraz’s out­stand­ing spell won him the man-of-the-match award.—APP
