Public annoyed over Tehsil officer’s reposting

Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL - BASHIR AHMAD REHMANI

HAFIZABAD—Local political and social workers as well as traders have protested against the reposting of Ikram Ullah Sandhu Tehsil Officer in the TMA Hafizabad and have called upon the Chief Minister of the Punjab to transfer him immediately.

The services of the “powerful officer” who remained posted in the TMA for more than six years, had been placed at the disposal of Secretary Local Government Punjab by the DCO on the charges of alleged corruption, misuse of official powers and committing various irregularities about a month ago.

On complaints of citizens, the DCO Muhammad Ahmad Rajwana had put his services at the disposal of the Punjab Government but due to sheer surprise of citizens and the district administration, Mr Sandhu has succeeded in getting his lucrative post again.

The DCO then assured the delegations that Sandhu would not return here but it has been proved that Mr. Sandhu is more “powerful” than the DCO, although DCO is also not “powerless” because he is nephew of Governor of the Punjab.
