Father, son sent to jail on 14-day remand
PESHAWAR—A local Peshawar court on Saturday sent accused Imran Khan and his son Abdullah to jail on a 14-day remand in a case pertaining to harassment and use of threats against two men in a road rage incident.
During the case proceedings, the minor boy, who pulled an M-16 rifle on the motorcyclist in yesterday’s incident, started crying when the court granted their remand. Imran was shifted to Central Jail while Abdullah was moved to counselling centre of jail.
Imran, who claimed he was political agent of the Kurram Agency, was arrested in Peshawar on Friday after an FIR was registered at the Sharqi Police Station by Rahat Shah, one of the two men he allegedly harassed. Imran claimed that his son fired ‘aerial shots in self defence’.
The accused said he was out shopping with his sons when motorcycleriding men tried to overtake his vehicle. ‘They almost smashed into me, so I pulled down my window and exchanged a few words with them’.
