Fa­ther, son sent to jail on 14-day re­mand

PESHAWAR—A lo­cal Peshawar court on Satur­day sent ac­cused Im­ran Khan and his son Ab­dul­lah to jail on a 14-day re­mand in a case per­tain­ing to ha­rass­ment and use of threats against two men in a road rage in­ci­dent.

Dur­ing the case pro­ceed­ings, the minor boy, who pulled an M-16 ri­fle on the mo­tor­cy­clist in yes­ter­day’s in­ci­dent, started cry­ing when the court granted their re­mand. Im­ran was shifted to Cen­tral Jail while Ab­dul­lah was moved to coun­selling cen­tre of jail.

Im­ran, who claimed he was po­lit­i­cal agent of the Kur­ram Agency, was ar­rested in Peshawar on Fri­day af­ter an FIR was reg­is­tered at the Sharqi Po­lice Sta­tion by Ra­hat Shah, one of the two men he al­legedly ha­rassed. Im­ran claimed that his son fired ‘aerial shots in self de­fence’.

The ac­cused said he was out shop­ping with his sons when mo­tor­cy­clerid­ing men tried to over­take his ve­hi­cle. ‘They al­most smashed into me, so I pulled down my win­dow and ex­changed a few words with them’.
