Farmers protest water shortage
NAWABSHAH—The farmers cultivating agriculture land on the water of Dhoro Naro canal have protested over shortage of water on 11 tail end watercourses.
Addressing a press conference at Nawabshah Press Club, Abdul Aziz Rind, Muham-mad Bux Khaskheli, Gulab Khan Rahu, Imtiaz Hussain Gupchani, Salam Khan Brohi, Muhabat Khaskheli farmers and others said that their lands are situated in Deh Gojro, Deh Panjoo Chhan, Deh Shah Hussain and Deh Gupchani.
These farmers said that Executive Engineer, Sub Divisional Officer and Daroogah of Nasrat Division are involved in corruption and they release water to influential growers on payment of lucrative amounts, which also includes the water share of tail end growers.
Farmers vowed that they are facing grave situation of paucity of irrigation water since last 19 years and over 6500 acres of fertile land has tuned barren.
