Govt’s pri­or­ity to pro­vide mod­ern health fa­cil­i­ties to cit­i­zens: SairaAfzal

ISLAMABAD—Min­is­ter of State for Na­tional Health Ser­vices Saira Afzal Tarar Satur­day said that pro­vi­sion of mod­ern health fa­cil­i­ties to the cit­i­zens was the top pri­or­ity of the gov­ern­ment.

Gov­ern­ment had pro­vided record funds to health sec­tor for im­part­ing mod­ern health­care fa­cil­i­ties in the coun­try, she said while talk­ing to Ra­dio Pak­istan.

Bil­lions of ru­pees would be spent for peo­ple’s health dur­ing the next fi­nan­cial year she said, adding that spe­cial at­ten­tion would also be paid to the de­vel­op­ment of re­mote and back­ward ar­eas of the coun­try.

Saira Afzal said that a project of mo­bile health dis­pen­saries was also launched for pro­vid­ing mod­ern health­care fa­cil­i­ties to the poor peo­ple of farflung ar­eas at their doorstep.—APP dua
