Scrutinisation of nomination papers starts, polls race picks momentum
OUR HATTIAN BALA, AJK—At the end of the filing of nomination papers on Friday for the July 21, 2016 general elections in Azad Kashmir, scrutinisation process has started.
AJK Assembly has 29 seats for the liberated territory and 12 for J&K refugees/Others in Pakistan, making it a total of 41-seat House.
Reports say that in all 733 candidates have filed their nominations with the returning officers to contest for 41 seats. The scrutiny will complete within two days period.
Meanwhile, electoral alliances are still in the making; Jamat Islami AJK and JKPP have joined the PMPN signalling a toughest test for MC-PTI AJK alliance in the electoral race.
Reacting to these alliances the AJK-PPP chief/prime minister Ch Abdul Majeed has drop a rival comment that no alliance can stand a snag in the way of poll victory of his party. He again criticise what he call behind-curtain polls dangling of the federal ministers.
Meanwhile talking to party workers gathering in Zardari House Islamabad MNA Faryal Talpur who is incharge of political affairs of PPP has warned the federal government to take hands off AJK political grouping affairs. She said that the commitment of PPP with the people of Kashmir by his party for liberation of occupied Kashmir is fast and firm.
He dispelled runours of splits in the party on electoral tickets matters.
MNA Talpur said that his party would sweep the AJK elections on the basis of good achievements by the party government. Our party manifesto is reolutionary, our aims are clear, our vision if to improve the economic fate of the masses in AJK.
