Govt to pro­mote sports: CS

HY­DER­ABAD —Chief Sec­re­taty Sindh Muham­mad Sid­dique Me­mon has said that gov­ern­ment was fully com­mit­ted to pro­mote sports and pro­vide healthy fa­cil­i­ties to the youth and it was the rea­son the gov­ern­ment had dou­bled the bud­getary al­lo­ca­tion of sports from ru­pees one bil­lion to ru­pees two bil­lion.

The Chief Sec­re­tary said this while per­form­ing the inau­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony of the mul­ti­pur­pose sports com­plex of Gov­ern­ment Col­lege of Tech­nol­ogy here on Satur­day.

He said that the gov­ern­ment wanted to pro­vide sports fa­cil­i­ties at ev­ery nook and cor­ner of the province there­fore, such type of mul­ti­pur­pose sports com­plex are be­ing es­tab­lished in dif­fer­ent dis­tricts of Sindh in­clud­ing Tando Al­lah­yar aimed at to en­cour­age tal­ented sports­men so that they could earn hon­our for the coun­try and the province by par­tic­i­pat­ing in na­tional and in­ter­na­tional sports events.

He in­formed that he is also go­ing to in­au­gu­rate the Tando Al­lah­yar mul­ti­pur­pose sports com­plex to­day.

He in­formed that mul­ti­pur­pose sports com­plex of Gov­ern­ment Col­lege of Tech­nol­ogy has been com­pleted at a cost of Rs. 36 mil­lion and it would pro­vide the youth of Hy­der­abad an op­por­tu­nity to im­prove their ca­pa­bil­i­ties and par­tic­i­pate in the na­tional and in­ter­na­tional events.—APP
