Mo­hibul­lah Squash Academy play­ers get cash hon­o­raria

PESHAWAR—Cash hon­o­raria, an­nounced by Direc­tor Gen­eral Pak­istan Sports Board Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Gan­jera for the play­ers of PSB Mo­hib Ul­lah Khan Squash Academy, were awarded to them on Satur­day.

As­so­ciate Sec­re­tary Pak­istan Sports Writ­ers Fed­er­a­tion and Se­nior Sports Jour­nal­ist Ijaz Ah­mad was the chief guest on this oc­ca­sion. Coaches of the Academy Pervez Ali, She­hzad Mo­hib, trainer Adil Khan and academy play­ers were also present.

Since inau­gu­ra­tion in way back 2006, DG Pak­istan Sports Board af­ter ev­ery six month pro­vide all squash play­ing gears in­clud­ing rack­ets, ball, two pair of play­ing uni­form and Rs. 500 PM stipend to each of the 12 Academy play­ers of dif­fer­ent aegis. Ijaz Ahamd dis­trib­uted Rs. 3000 to each of the 12 Academy play­ers.

In his speech, Ijaz Ah­mad lauded DG PSB Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Gan­jera, founder of the Academy Mo­hib Ul­lah Khan, for­mer World No. 2 squash player, Direc­tor PSB Mum­taz Ah­mad Nadeem and spe­cially Academy coaches Pervez Ali, She­hzad Mo­hib and trainer Adil Khan for tak­ing keen in­ter­est in run­ning the af­fairs of Mo­hib Ul­lah Khan Squash Academy work­ing un­der the aegis of Pak­istan Sports Board.

Ijaz Ah­mad termed the Academy as vi­tal tool in con­tribut­ing well to the game of Squash by train­ing and coach­ing up­com­ing play­ers for the fu­ture of squash in Pak­istan. He said un­less and un­til play­ers do not go for hard work, Pak­istan could not achieve the de­sired re­sult at in­ter­na­tional level. He said Pak­istan needs best train­ers rather than coaches so that they could play­ing four to five hours with the top play­ers both at ju­nior and se­nior lev­els if want to get back the lost glory.

He also ap­pre­ci­ated the ded­i­ca­tion and com­ment of the two coaches Pervez Ali and She­hzad Mo­hib along with trainer Adil Khan that the Academy play­ers pro­duc­ing good re­sults in var­i­ous events. He said the Academy has been play­ing very vi­tal role in boost­ing up­com­ing tal­ent at grass­roots level. It is good that the Academy con­duct tri­als of var­i­ous age groups cat­e­gories in­clud­ing Un­der-9, Un­der-11, Un­der-13 and Un­der-15, Ijaz Ah­mad added. It is also worth ap­pre­cia­ble that the play­ers of the PSB Mo­hib Ul­lah Khan Squash Academy have ex­celled time and again be­cause of the daily train­ing un­der qual­i­fied coaches. He paid tribute to for­mer World No. 2 Mo­hibul­lah Khan, DG PSB Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Gan­jera named af­ter PSB Academy as Mo­hibul­lah Khan Squash Academy.—APP
