Free transport for students

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - SANA ISHAQUE

I am a resident of a middle class area of Karachi. Now-a-days, especially in Karachi, the fare of buses is escalating regularly and getting beyond the affordability of the common masses. This undue hike in transport fares is affectly mostly the students of the colleges and universities.

Some students have financial problems; they want to study but their financial resources do not allow them to continue their studies. The students genuinely need concession or exemption in payment of transport fares to go to their colleges or universities. I request the city authorities, particularly the Mayor of Karachi, to kindly intervene and help out the poor students. —Via email
