Wrong parking causes traffic jams: CTO
RAWALPINDI—Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Iftikhar-ulHaq has asked motorists to avoid parking their vehicles in no parking areas as it leads to creating hurdle in smooth flow of traffic. Talking to APP, acting CTO said that wrong parking on roads is a major cause of traffic jam in various areas of the city.
He appealed to citizens that it was their utmost duty to follow traffic laws as most of the drivers violate road lanes which becomes cause of accidents. Abiding by the traffic laws could reduce the ratio of traffic mishaps, he added.
The CTO said: “The motorists and motorcyclists should observe traffic signals and stop their vehicles behind the stop line, so that the pedestrians could cross the road easily.
He directed the wardens to pick those vehicles with help of fork lift which were wrongly parked besides imposing fine to the violators. He said strict action would be taken against the violaters.—APP
