Ac­tion be­ing taken against prof­i­teers: DCO

RAWALPINDI—Dis­trict Co­or­di­na­tion Of­fi­cer (DCO) Talat Mehmood Gon­dal said that Ramzan Sasta Bazaars are pro­vid­ing re­lief to the con­sumers. DCO said that prices are be­ing mon­i­tored reg­u­larly and ac­tion is be­ing taken against the prof­i­teers adding that no one would be al­lowed to cheat the pub­lic dur­ing the holy month of Ramzan.

He said that con­sumers can reg­is­ter their com­plaints who are loot­ing gen­eral pub­lic and cre­at­ing ar­ti­fi­cial short­age to gain more profit.

He said that flour, sugar, veg­eta­bles and fruits are be­ing sold on cheaper rates as com­pared to open mar­ket. DCO said that 10 kg flour bag is be­ing sold at Rs 290 while the same weight is be­ing sold in open mar­ket at Rs 310. He said that Rice, Dal Chana, sugar and chicken are be­ing sold on sub­si­dized rates in these bazaars.

He said that spe­cial clean­li­ness mea­sures are be­ing en­sured be­sides pro­vid­ing se­cu­rity to the buy­ers. Talat said that Ramzan Sasta Bazaars set up at dif­fer­ent places are fa­cil­i­tat­ing the con­sumers and they are get­ting house­hold items on af­ford­able rates.—APP
