Kash­miris in­se­cure in India, stu­dents ar­rests con­demned

SRINAGAR—The Chair­man of In­ter­na­tional Fo­rum for Justice and Hu­man Rights, Mo­ham­mad Ah­san Un­too has con­demned the ar­rest of fe­male Kash­miri med­i­cal stu­dents by Delhi po­lice.

Mo­ham­mad Ah­san Un­too in a state­ment is­sued in Srinagar said, “It has been proved once again that Kash­miris are not safe in any part of India.”

Un­too said, “Four girl stu­dents on way from Bangladesh were ar­rested at Delhi air­port just be­cause one of them was car­ry­ing a bag with bomb writ­ten on it.” He said that in­stead of check­ing the bag, Delhi po­lice ar­rested the girls and put them to ques­tion­ing for sev­eral hours which is vi­o­la­tion of hu­man rights.

Un­too said, “Delhi po­lice is fond of ha­rass­ing Kash­miris by any means which in turn puts a big ques­tion mark on the claims of so-called largest democ­racy.”

Mean­while, Mr Un­too while re­leas­ing the re­port to the press, said that from 2008 till May 2016, 58 in­no­cent peo­ple in the val­ley.—KMS
