Chinese Taipei gifts coach to Pakistan
LAHORE—With Pakistan baseball team needing a batting coach at a time when the national outfit is about to participate in the World Cup Classic qualifying round, the Chinese Taipei has finally come to its rescue by approving a batting coach for the team to help it fare strongly in the qualifying round.
The World Cup Classic qualifying round will be held in New York from Sept 20 to 24.
Good performance in the World Cup qualifying round by the national team will open a new vista of opportunities for Pakistan players.
Talking to media persons, head coach of the national team Mussadiq Hanif said that though Pakistan had good pitchers, a batting coach was the need of the hour, adding the matter was solved when the Chinese Taipei Baseball Federation gifted a batting coach to Pakistan. The name of the coach would be conveyed to him later on, he further said while commenting that the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) had already set up an eight-month long training camp to help players prepare themselves for the all important event.—Agencies
