PE­SHAWAR— Chief Min­is­ter Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khat­tak on Mon­day di­rected use of alu­minium and steel win­dows, doors instead of wood. In a no­ti­fi­ca­tion is­sued here to de­part­ments of for­est, en­vi­ron­ment, wildlife and other govern­ment of­fices, he said the de­ci­sion is aimed to pro­tect for­est from cut­ting and added that all govern­ment build­ings in­clud­ing schools, hos­pi­tals should use steel or alu­minum as an al­ter­nate of wooden win­dows and doors. The KP CM called for adop­tion of prag­matic ef­forts to en­hance for­est area as govt had set im­por­tant tar­gets for next five years in the name of ‘Green Growth Pro­gramme’.—APP
