CTP to take strict action against one-wheelers
RAWALPINDI—Traffic wardens have been directed to take strict action against the youngsters found indulged in onewheeling, rash and dangerous driving.
According to Acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Iftikhar ul Haq, CTP have launched a special drive against one-wheelers and now the violators will be sent behind the bars.
He said, strict action was being taken against one-wheelers as the activity was strictly banned in the city. Special operations were being conducted to curb the activity and the traffic officers including Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Sector Incharges, Beat Incharges and traffic wardens specially those performing point duties on roads and chowks, had been directed that no relaxation should be given to anyone while under section 99/A, cases should also be registered against the violators, he added.
The youngsters found indulged in one-wheeling, rash and dangerous driving should be booked.
He informed that the city roads especially the attractive areas for the activity including Chandni Chowk, Sixth Road, Murree Road, Airport Road, Mall Road, Peshawar Road and Jhelum Road near Ayub Park were being covered effectively.
He said the motorcycles and vehicles of the rules violators would be impounded during special campaign.—APP
