CTP to take strict ac­tion against one-wheel­ers

RAWALPINDI—Traf­fic war­dens have been di­rected to take strict ac­tion against the young­sters found in­dulged in onewheel­ing, rash and danger­ous driv­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to Act­ing Chief Traf­fic Of­fi­cer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Iftikhar ul Haq, CTP have launched a spe­cial drive against one-wheel­ers and now the vi­o­la­tors will be sent be­hind the bars.

He said, strict ac­tion was be­ing taken against one-wheel­ers as the ac­tiv­ity was strictly banned in the city. Spe­cial op­er­a­tions were be­ing con­ducted to curb the ac­tiv­ity and the traf­fic of­fi­cers in­clud­ing Deputy Su­per­in­ten­dents of Po­lice (DSPs), Sec­tor In­charges, Beat In­charges and traf­fic war­dens spe­cially those per­form­ing point du­ties on roads and chowks, had been di­rected that no re­lax­ation should be given to any­one while un­der sec­tion 99/A, cases should also be reg­is­tered against the vi­o­la­tors, he added.

The young­sters found in­dulged in one-wheel­ing, rash and danger­ous driv­ing should be booked.

He in­formed that the city roads es­pe­cially the at­trac­tive ar­eas for the ac­tiv­ity in­clud­ing Chandni Chowk, Sixth Road, Mur­ree Road, Air­port Road, Mall Road, Pe­shawar Road and Jhelum Road near Ayub Park were be­ing cov­ered ef­fec­tively.

He said the mo­tor­cy­cles and ve­hi­cles of the rules vi­o­la­tors would be im­pounded dur­ing spe­cial cam­paign.—APP
