Pres­i­dent wants best Hajj ar­range­ments

IS­LAM­ABAD—Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain Tues­day di­rected the Min­istry of Re­li­gious Affairs to make the best pos­si­ble ar­range­ments for the Haj pil­grims dur­ing the up­com­ing Hajj sea­son and en­sure that Ha­jis should not face any dif­fi­culty in per­form­ing Hajj.

The Pres­i­dent was talk­ing to Min­is­ter for Re­li­gious Affairs Sar­dar Muham­mad Yousuf who called on him at the Ai­wan- e-Sadr, said a press re­lease. The Pres­i­dent asked the Min­is­ter to en­sure pro­vi­sion of proper board­ing, trans­port and med­i­cal fa­cil­i­ties for the pil­grims dur­ing their stay in Saudi Ara­bia for per­form­ing the Hajj.

The Pres­i­dent added that it should also be en­sured that PIA op­er­ates Hajj flights on sched­ule dur­ing the Hajj sea­son so that pil­grims face no dif­fi­culty while trav­el­ling to and from Saudi Ara­bia. He said that the Re­li­gious Min­istry should prop­erly guide and ed­u­cate the Ha­jis about the Hajj rit­u­als be­fore their de­par­ture to Saudi Ara­bia.

Pres­i­dent Mam­noon asked the Min­is­ter to con­tinue with his role for pro­mot­ing virtues of tol­er­ance, pa­tience, per­se­ver­ance and in­ter-faith har­mony across the coun­try so that there ‘is unity in our ranks and we are in uni­son to at­tain col­lec­tive na­tional de­vel­op­ment.’

On the oc­ca­sion, Min­is­ter for Re­li­gious Affairs briefed the Pres­i­dent about ar­range­ments be­ing made for the up­com­ing Hajj sea­son. He said that all ef­forts would be made to fa­cil­i­tate the Ha­jis dur­ing their per­for­mance of this sa­cred rit­ual in Saudi Ara­bia.—APP
