PBC con­demns kid­nap­ping of son of CJP Sindh’s

IS­LAM­ABAD—The Pak­istan Bar Coun­cil (PBC) on Tues­day called an emer­gent meet­ing of the of­fice bear­ers to con­demn the re­cent kid­nap­ping of Owais Ali Shah, Ad­vo­cate, High Court and son of Justice Sa­j­jad Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Sindh High Court.

Chair­ing the meet­ing, Vice-Chair­man Bar­ris­ter Dr. Farogh Naseem re­solved that in this dif­fi­cult time, the Pak­istan Bar Coun­cil and the Lawyers’ com­mu­nity of Pak­istan stand with the Chief Justice Sa­j­jad Ali Shah and his fam­ily and pray for a safe and early re­lease of his son Owais Ali Shah.

The Pak­istan Bar Coun­cil has fur­ther de­plored the law and or­der sit­u­a­tion par­tic­u­larly in the province of Sindh, and has called upon the Gover­nor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Fed­eral Min­is­ter for In­te­rior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Corp Com­man­der, Karachi, Lieu­tant Gen­eral Naveed Mukhtar, D.G. Rangers Ma­jor Gen­eral Bi­lal Ak­bar and I.G. Sindh A.D. Khawaja to en­sure the safe and se­cure re­lease of Owais and take steps so as to pro­vide com­plete se­cu­rity to the Lawyers, Judges, their fam­i­lies and the Court premises in Sindh.

Sim­i­larly, re­cent mur­ders of Lawyers in Pun­jab (i.e. in Gu­jrat and Pindi Bhat­tian) and Balochis­tan are con­demned, and the per­sons re­spon­si­ble for such bru­tal mur­ders may be ap­pre-hended and pun­ished.

Also the LEAs should pro­vide com­plete se­cu­rity to the Lawyers, Judges, their fam­i­lies and the Court premises in en­tire coun­try.

Other mem­bers of the PBC in­clud­ing Ab­dul Fayaz, ASC (Chair­man, Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee of the Pak­istan Bar Coun­cil), Ma­lik Ghu­lam Mustafa Kand­wal and Muham­mad Shoaib Sha­heen (both learned Mem­bers of the Pak­istan Bar Coun­cil) were also present on the oc­ca­sion.—APP
