Re­search-based edu key to suc­cess

PESHAWAR—Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Gover­nor, En­gi­neer Iqbal Za­far Jha­gra has said that knowl­edge and re­search was the main step for the de­vel­op­ment of any na­tion and ed­u­ca­tion is es­sen­tial for achiev­ing a re­spectable po­si­tion in the world.

Pre­sid­ing over the 20th Meet­ing of the Board of Gover­nors of the In­sti­tute of Man­age­ment Sci­ences here at Gover­nor’s House Tues­day, the Gover­nor who is also its chair­man said that in­deed a mar­ket de­mand based strat­egy can be the best op­tion in mak­ing this in­sti­tu­tion a goal ori­ented in real terms.

The Board was in­formed that the In­sti­tute has 42 Ph.D fac­ulty mem­bers in­clud­ing 28 PhD schol­ars. Teach­ing staff of the in­sti­tute will be dou­bled af­ter the com­ple­tion of the De­grees of the Ph.D Schol­ars. The meet- ing was fur­ther in­formed that the in­sti­tute is avail­ing the ad­van­tage of link­ages with in­sti­tu­tions of in­ter­na­tional re­pute in­clud­ing the four UK based uni­ver­si­ties. Ad­dress­ing the meet­ing, the Gover­nor has said that all out ef­forts were be­ing made to pro­vide the bet­ter ed­u­ca­tion fa­cil­i­ties to our youth. He em­pha­sized that higher ed­u­ca­tion in­sti­tu­tions should fo­cus on re­search adding that re­search based ed­u­ca­tion was the key to suc­cess.

Mean­while, Dr. Muham­mad Muhsin ap­pris­ing the Board about the pre­vail­ing state of work­ing of the in­sti­tu­tion as well as its fu­ture re­quire­ments said that their en­tire system ad­min­is­tra­tive, fi­nan­cial man­age­ment and ex­am­i­na­tion sys­tems are elec­tronic gov­er­nance based and they are en­gaged in the con­tin­u­ous process of bring­ing fur­ther im­prove­ment in all sphere of the aca­demic en­vi­ron­ment at the cam­pus.
