National junior badminton team selected for Thailand tour
ISLAMABAD—Pakistan badminton selection committee has selected the national junior team to participate in the Asian Junior Badminton Championship starting next month in Thailand.
All the selections were made after holding one month training camp which was followed by the trials, reported a private news channel.
Peshawar’s Zohaib Khan Khalil has also booked berth in the four-member National badminton junior team while other players selected for the national team include Aimar Jala, Shameer and Shahroz Jameel.
Zohaib Khalil has also represented Pakistan in a number of international events in Sri Lanka, China and Malaysia.
A total of 16 players participated from all over the country. The tournament will be held from July 9 to 11 in Thailand.— APP
He ruled out any chance of playing at the Rio Olympics in August.
