Rs34b Balochis­tan sup­ple­men­tary bud­get ap­proved

QUETTA—The lawmakers unan­i­mously ap­proved Balochis­tan Sup­ple­men­tary Bud­get have size of over RS 34.50 bil­lion for the fi­nan­cial year 201516, here on Wed­nes­day. Chief Min­is­ter Balochis­tan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri pre­sented the sup­ple­men­tary bud­get in the assem­bly ses­sion which was presided over by Speaker, Ms. Ra­heela Hameed Khan Dur­rani.

The Chief Min­is­ter pre­sented to­tal 23 de­mands for grants of the sup­ple­men­tary bud­get. A sum of Rs. 21.584 be­longed to de­vel­op­ment ex­pen­di­tures and an­other sum of Rs. 12.917 was ap­proved for non-de­vel­op­ment ex­pen­di­tures.

The Op­po­si­tion in the Balochis­tan Assem­bly did not op­pose the sup­ple­men­tary bud­get for the fi­nan­cial year 2015-16. Op­po­si­tion leader Maulana Ab­dul Wasey and other op­po­si­tion mem­bers did not move even a sin­gle cut mo­tion on all the 23 de­mands for grants.

The high­est al­lo­ca­tion of Rs. 8.962 bil­lion was sought for de­vel­op­ment ex­pen­di­ture for eco­nomic ser­vices while Rs. 7. 634 bil­lion were ap­proved for the ex­pen­di­ture in con­nec­tion with the hous­ing and com­mu­nity sec­tor.

The lawmakers ap­proved a de­mand for grant of Rs. 2.215 bil­lion for the ex­pen­di­tures for ed­u­ca­tional af­fairs and an­other de­mand for grant of Rs. 1.119 bil­lion for the environmental pro­tec­tion.

The non-de­vel­op­ment bud­get in­cluded a de­mand for grant of Rs. 4. 439 bil­lion for ex­pen­di­ture in con­nec­tion with se­condary ed­u­ca­tion and Rs. 3.762 bil­lion for the ex­pen­di­tures for power sec­tor. An­other amount of Rs. 1.62 bil­lion was ap­proved for the ex­pen­di­ture in civil works.
