Scholars urged to work against polio virus
QUETTA—A meeting at Polio Emergency Center here in Quetta emphasized on religious scholars to play their important role in the society to aware people against fatal diseases including polio that being threatening our children’s future.
“Without religious scholars support, we cannot build a welfare society, people only can be aware against fatal diseases if religious scholars come forward to guide them about vaccination program that only can eradiate fatal diseases,” the participants of the meeting said.
The meeting to discuss religious concern to run campaign against fatal disease like polio was held here where Additional Commissioner Quetta Division Muhammad Ishaq, Dr. Atta ur Rehman, Maulana Anwar ul Haq Haqani, Dr. Aftab Kakar, Muhammad Azam from WHO and other offi- cials were gathered in Emergency polio center.
Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Ishaq said, “Religious scholars have a vital role to form an Islamic and welfare society and they can bring positive changes in the society through their voice and rhetoric.” “If the religious part of the society starts to aware people against fatal disease like polio and TB, we can make a healthy society for our future generation,” he added.
He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are the only countries where the endemic polio virus was still active and paralyzing our children. Dr Aftab Kakar said that vaccination program against fatal disease have been playing an important role, “We have achieved important goals after getting support from religious part of the society”.
