3-G Internet service suspended in Khyber Agency
KHYBER AGENCY—3-G internet service has been suspended in most parts of FATA including Khyber Agency creating hurdles for local traders and people to carry out business tasks and to communicate with their relatives abroad.
A professional website developer and freelance Ishaq Khan Shinwari while giving the details of what he was facing due to the suspension of 3-G internet said due to the suspension of 3G Internet facility in Landikotal; he shifted to Peshawar.
A social activist and Khyber Youth Forum president Amir Khan Afridi said that freedom of expression and access to information were right of people. He said so social media in FATA was the only source of information and it should not be denied.
Israr Ahmad Shinwari, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N demanded of Governor of KP to issue order for restoration of internet service in Khyber Agency. When this scribe contacted the administration of Khyber Agency and Landikotal, they did not respond to the text messages.
