Ad­min­is­tra­tor takes no­tice of encroachments around mar­kets

KARACHI—KMC Ad­min­is­tra­tor Laeeq Ahmed has is­sued or­der for set­ting up five teams for tak­ing im­me­di­ate ac­tion against encroachments es­tab­lished in front of Haidery Mar­ket and ad­join­ing shop­ping cen­ters in dis­trict cen­tral.

Dur­ing a de­tailed visit of Haidery Mar­ket, Dol­men Mall, Shad­man and other shop­ping cen­ters he di­rected con­cerned of­fi­cers to con­tinue ac­tion against il­le­gal bachat bazars and unau­tho­rized charged park­ing in the city be­sides re­mov­ing the encroachments, said a state­ment on Wed­nes­day.

The Di­rec­tor E&IP and other of­fi­cers ac­com­pa­nied KMC Ad­min­is­tra­tor dur­ing this visit where he took strict no­tice of the ex­is­tence of tem­po­rary bazars along­side road and on pave- ment in front of the Haidery Mar­ket and Dol­men Mall.

On the oc­ca­sion he also is­sued or­der of sus­pen­sion of service of charged park­ing in­spec­tor for al­low­ing charged park­ing in front of Dol­men Mall Haidery af­ter the time fixed for charged park­ing.

He also di­rected that the 225 guards and 56 in­spec­tors of charged park­ing de­part­ment must be ac­ti­vated im­me­di­ately and their pres­ence on des­ig­nated points should be made sure. The Ad­min­is­tra­tor said charged park­ing was not al­lowed on sites other than 41 charged park­ing sites al­ready ad­ver­tised through news­pa­pers. He said the ac­tion against holding all il­le­gal bac­aht bazars was also of un­der­way in the city. The anti encroachments de­part­ment of KMC fol­low­ing the di­rec­tive of Ad­min­is­tra­tor Karachi Laeeq Ahmed re­moved all kinds of encroachments in­clud­ing cab­ins, patha­ras, coun­ters and shops from main road and foot­path around Ha­roon Shop­ping Cen­ter in Sakhi Has­san on Wed­nes­day. Later the seized items were de­posited in the KMC store.

The Ad­min­is­tra­tor has di­rected the anti encroachments staff to con­tinue its cam­paign against encroachments in the city so that the cit­i­zens could be saved from trou­ble due to the ex­is­tence of encroachments along­side main roads and on pave­ments es­pe­cially dur­ing the holy month of Ra­madan.—APP
