BISP re­leases in­stall­ment for last quar­ter of cur­rent fis­cal year: DG

KARACHI—Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of Be­nazir In­come Sup­port Pro­gramme (BISP), Naeem An­war has said that the BISP has re­leased the in­stall­ment to its part­ner banks for the last quar­ter of the cur­rent fi­nan­cial year 2015-2016.

BISP is the largest so­cial safety net in South Asia un­der which 5.3 mil­lion ben­e­fi­ciary fam­i­lies in all over Pak­istan are pro­vided Rs. 4700 per quar­ter, said Naeem An­war, in a state­ment is­sued here on Wed­nes­day.

He fur­ther said that trans­parency is the hall­mark of BISP and last trench of Cur­rent Fis­cal year have been re- leased to the banks so that this amount may be trans­ferred to the ben­e­fi­cia­ries in a trans­par­ent man­ner. Women ben­e­fi­cia­ries may with­draw money from any ATM and POS (UBL Omni) ma­chine. BISP pro­vides money to its ben­e­fi­cia­ries through five part­ner banks which in­clude Bank Al­falah, UBL, HBL, Tameer and Sum­mit Bank. How­ever, the ben­e­fi­cia­ries may with­draw their money from ATM of any bank, he added.

Naeem An­war said that the gov­ern­ment is try­ing to give re­lief to the poor­est seg­ment of the so­ci­ety through this pro­gramme so that the max­i­mum num­ber of fam­i­lies may be­come fi­nan­cially in­de­pen­dent. The re­lease of this in­stall­ment in Ra­madan and be­fore Eid will pro­vide com­fort to the reg­is­tered fam­i­lies in this sa­cred month.

He fur­ther stated that the women ben­e­fi­cia­ries should use their BDC’s them­selves and be aware of the fraud­u­lent el­e­ments. In case of any prob­lem, ben­e­fi­cia­ries may con­tact their nearby re­spec­tive BISP tehsil of­fices or call at toll free num­ber 080026477 for reg­is­ter­ing and re­solv­ing their com­plaints.—APP
