LAHORE— Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu Thursday said the Punjab government presented a balanced and public-welfare budget for fiscal 2016-17. Talking to APP at the Punjab Assembly here, he said that education, health, agriculture, water supply and law and order sectors were given priority in the new budget document. He said the PML-N government believed in serving masses without any bias and in this regard, it had given historic relief to the common man in the budget. “We are striving for setting up a society based on public welfare, economic development and justice, and the new budget is a step in this direction,” he added.—APP
