Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL - STAFF REPORT

LAHORE—Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Hina Butt has said that the Pakistan Awami Tehreek was using the tragic Model Town incident for political gains.

“The prime objective of Pakistan Awami Tehreek was to create instability and chaos in the country,” she said, adding that “seasonal revolution” by radicalising the innocent masses was uncalled for in prevailing circumstances especially when the government was striving hard towards prosperity.

She said Tahirul Qadri, through his aggressive and emotional speeches, was hiding facts and creating political propaganda. “Political actors like Qadri, who don’t feel “safe” living in Pakistan, should realise that their games are over and people have rejected them over and over again.

Hina recalled that soon after the Model Town incident, a case was registered in the Faisal Town police station on the instruction of the court, while a case had also been registered against police officials and 42 PAT activists as well.
