Motorway police warns stern action against overcharging
ISLAMABAD—The Motorway police has warned transporters stern action against overcharging and overloading on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. DIG Motorway Police North Zone, Ashraf Zubair Saddiqi said that that most of the people plan to visit their native homes to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, said a press release issue here on Thursday.
He directed to ensure surprise checks at different spots of the north zone and strict action including returning of overcharged fare.
DIG warned transporters the imposition of heavy fine in case of their involvement in overcharging and fleecing people.
The overcharged amount would have to be returned to the passenger. Special squads would be deployed to stop the miscreants and control crime during Eid Ul Fitr holidays, as most of the people carry valuables while traveling on G.T Road.—APP
