Mo­tor­way po­lice warns stern ac­tion against over­charg­ing

IS­LAM­ABAD—The Mo­tor­way po­lice has warned trans­porters stern ac­tion against over­charg­ing and over­load­ing on the oc­ca­sion of Eid-ul-Fitr. DIG Mo­tor­way Po­lice North Zone, Ashraf Zubair Sad­diqi said that that most of the peo­ple plan to visit their na­tive homes to cel­e­brate Eid-ul-Fitr, said a press re­lease is­sue here on Thurs­day.

He directed to en­sure sur­prise checks at dif­fer­ent spots of the north zone and strict ac­tion in­clud­ing re­turn­ing of over­charged fare.

DIG warned trans­porters the im­po­si­tion of heavy fine in case of their in­volve­ment in over­charg­ing and fleec­ing peo­ple.

The over­charged amount would have to be re­turned to the pas­sen­ger. Spe­cial squads would be de­ployed to stop the mis­cre­ants and con­trol crime dur­ing Eid Ul Fitr hol­i­days, as most of the peo­ple carry valu­ables while trav­el­ing on G.T Road.—APP
