Pun­jab Archery C’ship be­gins

LAHORE—Pun­jab Archery cham­pi­onship for Bahria Cup com­menced here on Wed­nes­day night with sev­enty par­tic­i­pants drawn from all over the prov­ince un­der­ling their tal­ent and tech­nique at Bahria town archery range.

In the open­ing round team and in­di­vid­ual events, men and women archers from Lahore, Faisal­abad, Rawalpindi, Sahi­wal, Gu­jran­wal, Ba­hawalpur, Mul­tan and Is­lam­abad par­tic­i­pated.

Brig. (retd.) Khalil Ul­lah Butt Ad­min­is­tra­tor Bahria Town Lahore in­au­gu­rated the event by shoot­ing an ar­row. Syed Khawar Shah Direc­tor Sports Bahria Town Lahore and Man­zar Shah Or­ga­niz­ing Sec­re­tary were also present on the oc­ca­sion.

On the fi­nal day of the event, Fri­day, Olympic day cel­e­bra­tions will also take place on the side lines of the com­pe­ti­tion. Lt. Gen (retd) Syed Arif Has­san Pres­i­dent POA who is also the Pres­i­dent of Pak­istan Archery Fed­er­a­tion will be the Chief Guest to award cash prizes of Rs 100,000, and medals among the win­ners.—APP
