Minister directs to continue crackdown on illegal blood banks
KARACHI—Sindh Health Minister, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday directed Secretary, Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA), Dr. Zahid Ansari to ensure safe blood to the patients and to continue crackdown against illegal blood banks.
This was said by the Minister while lauding the cooperation of German Development Bank (Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau-KFW) in providing safe blood to patients in Sindh, said a statement.
The Minister has expressed hope that KFW Development Bank will continue its coordination to facilitate the poor and deserving patients in the province. The statement said that an agreement was signed between Sindh Health Department and the KFW Development Bank.
Secretary, Health, Ahmed Bux Narejo and Masooma Zaidi from the KFW Development Bank signed the agreement while Dr. Zahid Ansari was also present. Under this agreement, in second phase, the KFW Development Bank will facilitate three more blood banks in Sindh in term of management information system.
The KFW Development Bank will facilitate the SBTA in lab equipments, technical training to human resource and waste disposal and technical consultation as well.
Dr. Zahid Ansari told that it would enhance working capacity of SBTA and enable us to serve the patients in better way.—APP
