Sikh pilgrims thank Pak­istan govt, peo­ple for love, care

ATTOCK—Two days long death an­niver­sary of Ma­haraja Ran­jeet Singh started at Gur­d­wara Siri Punja Sahib Hasan­ab­dal with the ar­rival of 448 In­dian Sikh pilgrims by spe­cial train. DPO Attock Zahid Nawaz Mar­wat, ASP Hasan­ab­dal, Am­breen Ali, AC Hasan­ab­dal Mu­jahid Ab­bas and Ad­min Of­fi­cer Ab­dul­lah Khan re­ceived the pilgrims.

Deputy Sec­re­tary Gen­eral Shrines Syed Faraz Ab­bas said that 448 In­dian Sikh pilgrims headed by SGPC lead­ers Gurmeet Singh and Sar­dar Baldev Singh are par­tic­i­pat­ing in the an­niver­sary.

He said that on the spe­cial di­rec­tives of Chair­man ETPB Sidiq ul Fa­rooq max­i­mum fa­cil­i­ties have been pro­vided to the Sikh pilgrims. The Sikh pilgrims dur­ing their two days stay will re­cite their holy book, have holy bath and other rit­u­als.

Syed Faraz Ab­bas said that the Sikh pilgrims would be pro­vided all fa­cil­i­ties, which in­clude board­ing, mess­ing and health free of cost. Chief Se­cu­rity Of­fi­cer Muham­mad Naeem said that al­most 700 po­lice per­son­nel have been de­ployed to pro­vide fool­proof se­cu­rity to the Sikh pilgrims.

Sikh Gur­d­wara Purb­han­dak Com­mit­tee (SGPC) lead­ers Gurmeet Singh and Sar­dar Buldev Singh talk­ing to this scribe ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion over the ar­range­ments made for them at the Gur­d­wara. They said, we are en­joy­ing full re­li­gious free­dom in a se­cure en­vi­ron­ment. They thanked Govt of Pak­istan for giv­ing them re­li­gious free­dom, se­cu­rity and other fa­cil­i­ties. They said the peo­ple of Pak­istan are lov­ing and car­ing.
