Sikh pilgrims thank Pakistan govt, people for love, care
ATTOCK—Two days long death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh started at Gurdwara Siri Punja Sahib Hasanabdal with the arrival of 448 Indian Sikh pilgrims by special train. DPO Attock Zahid Nawaz Marwat, ASP Hasanabdal, Ambreen Ali, AC Hasanabdal Mujahid Abbas and Admin Officer Abdullah Khan received the pilgrims.
Deputy Secretary General Shrines Syed Faraz Abbas said that 448 Indian Sikh pilgrims headed by SGPC leaders Gurmeet Singh and Sardar Baldev Singh are participating in the anniversary.
He said that on the special directives of Chairman ETPB Sidiq ul Farooq maximum facilities have been provided to the Sikh pilgrims. The Sikh pilgrims during their two days stay will recite their holy book, have holy bath and other rituals.
Syed Faraz Abbas said that the Sikh pilgrims would be provided all facilities, which include boarding, messing and health free of cost. Chief Security Officer Muhammad Naeem said that almost 700 police personnel have been deployed to provide foolproof security to the Sikh pilgrims.
Sikh Gurdwara Purbhandak Committee (SGPC) leaders Gurmeet Singh and Sardar Buldev Singh talking to this scribe expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for them at the Gurdwara. They said, we are enjoying full religious freedom in a secure environment. They thanked Govt of Pakistan for giving them religious freedom, security and other facilities. They said the people of Pakistan are loving and caring.
