El­derly peo­ple to get pen­sion through ATM card

IS­LAM­ABAD —El­derly peo­ple will be re­lieved soon as they have in­tro­duced ATM card to get the Em­ploy­ees Old-Age Ben­e­fits In­sti­tu­tion (EOBI) pen­sion with­out stand­ing in queue.

The sys­tem would get started from Au­gust 1 at all the branches of bank Al­falah, re­ported a pri­vate news channel.

Ac­cord­ing to sources, the reg­is­tered male pen­sion­ers for EOBI are 3,89,000 while the to­tal num­ber of fe­males has been recorded as 1,84,000. How­ever, only 8000 peo­ple have got reg­is­tered under scheme so far.

The au­thor­i­ties have said that the re­tired peo­ple have to get their money of June from the old process while they would use the new ATM card sys­tem from July. Ef­forts were also be­ing made for the com­put­er­i­za­tion of EOBI record for en­hanc­ing its per­for­mance.—APP
