NBF starts e-Book scheme to pro­mote reading

IS­LAM­ABAD—Na­tional Book Foun­da­tion (NBF) as part of steps to pro­mote books reading, has in­tro­duced e-Book scheme to fa­cil­i­tate read­ers.

Under the scheme, the Foun­da­tion has spe­cially cre­ated an e- Book sec­tion on its website for the pur­pose.

Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial of NBF that the ini­tia­tive has been taken as per di­rec­tions of Ad­vi­sor to Prime Min­is­ter on Na­tional His­tory and Lit­er­ary Her­itage Divi­sion, Ir­fan Sid­diqui

The of­fi­cial said Man­ag­ing Direc­tor NBF, Prof. Dr. Ina­mul Haq Javeid is also keen in pro­mot­ing the book cul­ture among read­ers as some schemes have been and were be­ing in­tro­duced to pro­mote reading.

He said NBF would also up­load its fresh pub­li­ca­tion on website and in­tro­duce new shemes to en­sure avail­abil­ity of books.

Re­ply­ing to a ques­tion, the of­fi­cial said e-book trend was gain­ing pop­u­lar­ity among read­ers as ad­vance tech­nol­ogy en­sures ease and com­fort.

He said this new ini­tia­tive would be fruit­ful as the read­ers would be able to have ac­cess to all im­por­tant pub­li­ca­tions with one click on website.—APP
