Elim­i­na­tion of cor­rup­tion, mal­prac­tices a pri­or­ity: IGP

KARACHI—In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has claimed that elim­i­na­tion of cor­rup­tion and mal­prac­tices were among his pri­or­i­ties.

He stated this in a meet­ing with the suc­cess­ful bid­ders for the sup­ply of var­i­ous items to Sindh Po­lice dur­ing the fis­cal year 2015- 16.

A po­lice spokesman said here on Satur­day that the IGP in­formed that the process for trans­par­ent bid­ding with­out any dis­crim­i­na­tion has been ini­ti­ated for ac­qui­si­tion of var­i­ous items re­quired by the Sindh Po­lice.

How­ever, the IGP also made it clear that there would be no com­pro­mise on the qual­ity of items supplied.

He also stated that Sindh Po­lice’s pro­cure­ment and in­spec­tion com­mit­tees are be­ing bi­fur­cated and given sep­a­rate re­spon­si­bil­i­ties.—APP
