Com­mis­sioner wants faulty equip­ments re­port at BVH

BAHAWALPUR—Com­mis­sioner Bahawalpur Di­vi­sion Saqib Za­far has di­rected the con­cerned au­thor­i­ties of Ba­hawal Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal (BVH) to mo­bi­lize all avail­able re­sources to en­sure best medical cover to the pa­tients. He is­sued these di­rec­tions dur­ing a sur­prise visit of Ba­hawal Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal on Sun­day. Com­mis­sioner vis­ited medical and sur­gi­cal wards; op­er­a­tion the­atres; ICU; Pae­di­atrics ward; depart­ment of ra­di­ol­ogy; nephrol­ogy; car­diac care unit and ac­ci­dent emer­gency de­part­ments. He also sought a de­tailed re­port from high ups of the hos­pi­tal about the de­fec­tive and faulty medical equip­ment and ma­chin­ery of dif­fer­ent wards and de­part­ments in the hos­pi­tal.

He thor­oughly checked the dif­fer­ent mea­sures un­der taken by the medical and paramed­i­cal staff re­gard­ing the treat­ment of the pa­tients ad­mit­ted in dif­fer­ent wards and de­part­ments of the hos­pi­tal. He went to the beds of the pa­tients ad­mit­ted in dif­fer­ent wards and de­part­ments and in­quired of the qual­ity of health­care and medical treat­ment pro­vided to them by the con­cerned medical staff. He in­quired of their health and in­quired about the pro­vi­sion of free medicine to the pa­tients. On this oc­ca­sion one pa­tient com­plained to the Com­mis­sioner that he has pur­chased medicine by spend­ing money.

The Com­mis­sioner took prompt ac­tion and di­rected the con­cerned au­thor­i­ties of the hos­pi­tal to im­me­di­ately re­pay the amount spent by the con­cerned pa­tient for buy­ing medicine from the open mar­ket. He di­rected the hos­pi­tal au­thor­i­ties to pro­vide all medicines to the pa­tients to en­sure the hun­dred per­cent at­ten­dance and pres­ence of medical and paramed­i­cal staff for ef­fec­tive and smooth func­tion­ing of ex­tend­ing health­care and medical treat­ment to the pa­tients.

Dur­ing his visit the Com­mis­sioner also in­spected the op­er­a­tional sta­tus of the func­tion­ing of air con­di­tion­ing sys­tem of dif­fer­ent wards and de­part­ments to pro­vide com­fort­able and de­cent en­vi­ron­ment to the pa­tients.

The hos­pi­tal au­thor­i­ties briefed the com­mis­sioner that to fully op­er­a­tional­ize the air con­di­tion­ing sys­tem in­stal­la­tion process was rapidly be­ing done and most of the wards and de­part­ments air con­di­tion­ing sys­tem has al­ready be­ing en­er­gized and the air con­di­tion­ing sys­tem would be fully op­er­a­tionl­ized very soon.
