Empowering ru­ral women thru skill en­hance­ment cer­e­mony

SAWAN KHASKHELI BADIN—As­so­ci­a­tion for Hu­man­i­tar­ian De­vel­op­ment (AHD) has or­ga­nized a project clos­ing cer­e­mony of the USAID Small Grants and Am­bas­sador’s Fund Pro­gramme ti­tled on “Empowering ru­ral women through skills en­hance­ment of 300 women of two Union Coun­cils of District Badin” on last day at AHD of­fice Matli.

The event was par­tic­i­pated by hundreds from dif­fer­ent back­grounds in­clud­ing gov­ern­men­tal de­part­ments, elected rep­re­sen­ta­tive, civil so­ci­ety or­ga­ni­za­tions, ed­u­ca­tion­al­ists, jour­nal­ists, po­lit­i­cal work­ers and youth groups.

The par­tic­i­pants of event were ac­knowl­edged the ef­forts of USAID SGAFP and AHD and on the oc­ca­sion while ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants Mr. Khur­shid Bhatti Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer (CEO) AHD told the project in­ter­ven­tions and their team’s ex­pe­ri­ence.

Project in­ter­ven­tions were dire need of the women for em­pow­er­ment in ru­ral area es­pe­cially mi­nori­ties, he added. He said that women and mi­nori­ties are very de­prived seg­ment of so­ci­ety and need to at­ten­tion. Dur­ing this event, stake­hold­ers have also shared their ex­pe­ri­ences and les­son learnt about the project in­ter­ven­tions.
