KU admission procedure

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - UMM-E-HANI

Tens of thousands of students became victims of the admission procedure annually in University of Karachi. While filling the admission forms one has to give four options with respect to their priorities. But, they are given the departments on the basis of their percentage. Consequently, majority of candidates are given programmes that they are least interested in. For instance, in my IR class most of the candidates desired for other departments like, psychology, law, sociology etc. And I am sure that same is scenario in all the departments of university.

Karachi University is one of the prestigious varsities in Pakistan, which is the only hope for the students of lower or middle class to fulfil their dreams of higher education. But, this admission procedure is badly killing their desires. I on the behalf of many other students request the Vice Chancellor to revisit and reform the admission procedure.
