Anti-In­dia protests held in Kash­mir

SRI­NA­GAR—In oc­cu­pied Kash­mir, an anti-In­dia protest march was held from Par­tap Park to Ghanta Ghar in Sri­na­gar, Sun­day.

The pro­test­ers were car­ry­ing sym­bolic coffins of the in­no­cent Kash­miris killed by In­dian army-backed rene­gade Papa Kisht­wari.

Hur­riyet lead­ers Yas­meen Raja, Javaid Ah­mad Mir and ad­vo­cate Babar Qadri were among those who par­tic­i­pated in the protest.

The pro­test­ers raised pro-free­dom and anti-In­dia slo­gans, on the oc­ca­sion. Mean­while, a com­plete shut­down was ob­served in Pam­pore area of Pul­wama district against the killing of two Kash­miri youth mar­tyred by In­dian troops in the area yes­ter­day.

All shops and busi­ness es­tab­lish­ments were closed while traf­fic re­mained off the road.

Eight per­son­nel of In­dian para­mil­i­tary force Cen­tral Re­serve Po­lice Force (CRPF) were killed and around two dozen were in­jured af­ter Mu­jahideen am­bushed a CRPF con­voy in Frest­bal area of Pam­pore on Saturday.—KMS
