21 killed, dozens injured in road accidents
KHUZDAR/FAISALABAD/ OKARA—A fast-moving coach carrying at least 40 passengers fell into gorge in Balochistan’s Khuzdar area Pir Omer on Monday, killing eleven while 24 were injured. According to a private news channel, the illfated coach was en route to Karachi from Quetta, fell down the National Highway while negotiating a curve. Those injured were rushed to nearby hospitals by Levies forces and rescue teams for treatment.
While, six people were killed in a collision between a van and a loaded tractortrolley, here on Monday. Police said an eminent surgeon Abdullah Khalid, his son Muhammad Umar, driver Umer Ali, Rafiq, Nadeem Aftab, Rasheed and Sajid Ali were going to Rahim Yar Khan from Okara in a van when it collided with the tractortrolley near Khanpur.
As a result, all the riders lost their lives except Sajid Ali, who also received severe injuries. He was shifted to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, in Faisalabad, four persons were killed and five others injured in different road accidents, here on Monday.
According to police, one Bhola of Chak No 209RB was killed and three others namely Faisal (27), Qamar (15) and Anwarul Haq (22) were injured in a collision between a truck and a Mazda loader van near Sadhar Bypass on Jhang Road in Thikriwala police precincts. The injured were rushed to Allied Hospital.
In the second incident, a woman Safia Bibi, 36, was killed while another woman Rani, 40, and minor child were injured, when they were hit by a trailer near Chak No 195-RB on Jandanwala Road. The police handed over the body to legal heirs while the injured were shifted to hospital.
In the third incident, a teenage boy Safdar of Chak No 67-RB Sadhar was injured when his motorbike was hit by a donkey cart on Jhang Road. One Nasir Ali (23) of Chak No 295-RB was ran over by a speeding car while crossing road in front of Rescue 1122 office on Jhang Road. Later on he succumbed to his injuries at Allied Hospital.
