200 Tharis to get truck driving training
ISLAMABAD—As many as 200 locals from Taluka Islamkot, Mithi, and Nagarparkar, Sindh province would be imparted truck driving training. Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC), under its commitment to create local jobs, has selected the 200 locals for truck driver training and employment program through NLC.
The number will increase in near future for residents of District Tharparkar, a spokesman of the company said in a statement issued here on Monday. The Company is committed to creating several hundred jobs in the next few months to support poverty alleviation and establish itself as an employer of choice in Tharparkar.
The trainee drivers were selected after a 10-day recruitment drive wherein more than 1200 locals were evaluated against set criteria. The objective of SECMC’s employment drive is to create job opportunities for local communities who can actively contribute to the development of Thar Coal Block-II project.
