200 Tharis to get truck driv­ing train­ing

IS­LAM­ABAD—As many as 200 lo­cals from Taluka Is­lamkot, Mithi, and Na­garparkar, Sindh province would be im­parted truck driv­ing train­ing. Sindh En­gro Coal Min­ing Com­pany (SECMC), under its com­mit­ment to cre­ate lo­cal jobs, has se­lected the 200 lo­cals for truck driver train­ing and em­ploy­ment pro­gram through NLC.

The num­ber will in­crease in near fu­ture for res­i­dents of District Tharparkar, a spokesman of the com­pany said in a state­ment is­sued here on Mon­day. The Com­pany is com­mit­ted to cre­at­ing sev­eral hun­dred jobs in the next few months to sup­port poverty al­le­vi­a­tion and es­tab­lish it­self as an em­ployer of choice in Tharparkar.

The trainee driv­ers were se­lected af­ter a 10-day re­cruit­ment drive wherein more than 1200 lo­cals were eval­u­ated against set cri­te­ria. The ob­jec­tive of SECMC’s em­ploy­ment drive is to cre­ate job op­por­tu­ni­ties for lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties who can ac­tively con­trib­ute to the de­vel­op­ment of Thar Coal Block-II project.
