Usman guides NBP in Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup last-8 round
KARACHI—Youthful Usman Qadir propelled National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the quarterfinal of 4th Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup Floodlight Cricket Tournament when they defeated Atiq Estates by six wickets here at the Lawai Stadium on Monday.
Usman, son of former legendary leg-spinner Abdul Qadir, cracked an enterprising 48, took two wickets for onerun in an amazing four overs spell and held a catch to single handedly guide his team to the knock-out stage.
Batting first, Atiq Estate could manage 116 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Rameez Aziz made 37 in 27 balls with two sixes and two boundaries. Ammad Butt got 33 with two towering sixes and one four.
Besides Usman, medium pacer Muhammad Afaq snapped-up two wickets for 16 runs.
NBP, in reply, reached the target at the start of 18th over.
Usman Qadir lifted three sixes and struck two boundaries in his 48 off 47 balls. Faheem Ashraf scored an unbeaten 15 with a lone six.
