Centre should stop by-passing Sindh govt: Khohro

Pakistan Observer - - KARACHI CITY -

KARACHI—Pakistan is passing through difficult time and there are numerous challenges that the country is facing and striving for quicker riddance while the elected Sindh provincial government is extending full cooperation to the country’s national institutions.

The biggest of all the challenges is the menace of terrorism and as well the country also has tremendous challenges on the economic forefront.

Sindh Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khohro said this while addressing a simple but august gathering of an Iftarcum-Dinner hosted by the PPP leader and candidate for the post of Chairman of the DMC east at a local community hall at P.E.C.H.S on Sunday.

Khohro said that despite the fact that the Sindh government has openheartedly welcomes the federal government regarding its steps under the national action plan but it is a deplorable situation that earlier has time and again ignored the concerns of the Sindh government. The federal government has to respond to the Sindh government for its vibrant steps for the elimination of terrorism, maintenance of law and order and elimination of poverty and developmental projects in Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Leader in the Senate of Pakistan, Senator Saeed Ghani said that the basic of the PPP’s manifesto is to serve and empower the masses and the elections for the local bodies on completion of its final phase would translate the PPP’s manifesto in real. He said that the delay in completion of the final phase of mayoral elections was from the election commission and it would an undemocratic and unhealthy trend to allege the PPP of Sindh government for use of delaying tactics. The burden of the EC should not be thrown over the PPP or Sindh government, he added.

The host of the Iftar-cum-Dinner had earlier in his welcoming address said that the PPP is a democratic party in true sense and meaning and always believed in taking all on board under all situations. He said that the presence of notables from all walks of life in this Iftarcum-Dinner is the real manifest of the reality that the party maintains the norms and values of the democracy.

Those present in the Iftar-cumDinner included Rashid Hussain Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Habibuddin Junaidi, MNA Dr Shahida Rehmani, Israr Abbasi and Erum But from PTI, Taufeeque Moon and Hanif Jangra from Jamaat-e Islami and newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of DMCs and members.—NNI
