Hesco, Pesco disconnect power to 500 defaulters
ISLAMABAD—The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) in its ongoing operation against power pilferers and defaulters disconnected supply to over 500 defaulters outstanding besides removing around 400 illegal connection in Badin district. The spokesman told that electricity supply was suspended to the defaulters for not clearing Rs 80 million dues.
He said that operation was conducted in Shahi Bazar, Chando Nagar, Ilyas Gopang, Memon Mohalla and other areas. Meanwhile, Xen Badin Abdul Sattar said HESCO officials were being threatened by Imtiaz and Taj Muhammad for launching operation against the defaulters and removing illegal connections. He said that written complaint has been regis-tered with Deputy Commissioner and SP Badin in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has disconnected power supply to several government departments in Dargai for non-payment of Rs320 million arrears. According to PESCO statement, the campaign for disconnection of electricity supply lines has been expedited throughout the province as power connections to several defaulted government departments at Dargai sub division were disconnected due to nonpayment of Rs3,2,084,003 arrears pending since long.
Because of nonpayment of Rs 33,23,468 arrears, the electricity supply to government defaulters departments has been disconnected in Themargar-1 sub division. In Chakdara sub division, power supply was disconnected to government departments due to nonpayment of Rs.5,031,897.
Power supply in Themargara sub division was also disconnected to government departments owing Rs.6,437,175 pending amount. Similarly, power supply has been disconnected in Talash sub division of public sector departments owing Rs. 8,480,488 pending amount whereas power supply was disconnected due to nonpayment of Rs.8,811,002 in Samarbagh sub division Dargai of the defaulter government departments.
