Another noble voice silenced

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION -

MAHEEN ABBASI Once again the city of lights Karachi is bleeding, from the blood of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri, when four anonymous assassins on two motorcycles opened fire at his car while he was heading for the studio of a private television channel to take part in the Iftari transmissions. This incident took place in his hometown, Liaquatabad. Unfortunately, another precious asset and gem of Pakistan has been targeted by the enemies of Pakistan. Although Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident and demanded report of the incident from Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah but this is not the permanent solution to these kinds of incidents. The law enforcement agencies, Rangers, police had failed to maintain the environment of peace in the city. A man like him who has nothing to do with any kind of politics; he was like a common man; a person like him is not secure, this shows picture of security in Karachi for a common man. This is an extreme alarming situation for the state as well is for all of them who are in power.

Every citizen of Pakistan demands the killers of Amjad Sabri to be executed in an exemplary manner. The forces who are working against Pakistan whether from within or from other neighbouring countries to destabilize Pakistan, need to be controlled now, how many murders we will condemn? Of Sabeen Mehmood, Khurram Zaki, etc this needs to end now. I urge Prime Minister of Pakistan, all political parties, Parliamentarians and Senators to take a clear stand on this critical issue of target killing that is disturbing the atmosphere of peace and defaming Pakistan all around the world. This needs to be stop now and once for all. — Karachi
