Noise pollution

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION -

SYEDA NIDA RAZA Most of us are used to the sounds we here all the time like traffic, people chatting, television, loud music, dogs barking at night etc. These sounds are now part of our life - our so-called modern urban life. Pollution is not limited to environmental pollution; noise pollution is also a big concern.

Noise pollution means excessive sounds produced by any kind of source. Causes of noise pollution are industrialisation, lack of city planning, construction activities, transportation, social events like marriages, birthdays and etc. Government must at least take action to reduce noise pollution near hospitals and other sensitive areas. — Karachi
