So­pore on boil on youth killing

SRI­NA­GAR—A large num­ber of peo­ple in­clud­ing Hur­riyet lead­ers and ac­tivists at­tended the fu­neral prayers of a youth, Sameer Ah­mad, who was mar­tyred by In­dian troops, Tues­day.

Hur­riyet lead­ers Ghu­lam Muham­mad Khan So­pori, Ghu­lam Nabi War and ac­tivists of Tehreek-e-Hur­riyet and Jammu and Kash­mir Mass Move­ment at­tended the fu­neral in Dooru area of So­pore. The youth, whom In­dian po­lice claimed to be a Mu­jahid, was mar­tyred by troops in Drug­mulla area of Kup­wara dis­trict. He was a res­i­dent of Dooru, So­pore.

The killing led to force­ful anti-protest demon­stra­tions in So­pore. The an­gry pro­test­ers rais­ing pro-Pakistan and anti-India slo­gans also set ablaze po­lice ve­hi­cles in the area. The peo­ple car­ry­ing the body of the mar­tyred youth marched on the streets of So­pore. Sev­eral peo­ple were in­jured in clashes be­tween po­lice and pro­test­ers at Na­gri, Kawardi and ad­ja­cent ar­eas of Kup­wara dis­trict.

Hur­riyet leader Za­far Ak­bar vis­ited the mar­tyred fam­ily and ex­pressed sol­i­dar­ity with them over the mar­tyr­dom of Sameer Ah­mad.

The Chair­man of All Par­ties Hur­riyet Con­fer­ence Syed Ali Gi­lani, Jammu and Kash­mir Peo­ples League and other Hur­riyet lead­ers and or­ga­ni­za­tions in their state­ments paid rich trib­utes to the mar­tyred youth.—KMS have ex­posed the real de­signs of Rashtriya Swayam­se­vak Sangh against Pakistan.

The APHC spokesman in a state­ment is­sued in Sri­na­gar, Tues­day said that the RSS fa­nat­ics were only in­ter­ested in land, and had noth­ing to with the life and prop­erty of the Kash­miris.
