Ship­ping ac­tiv­ity at Port Qasim

KARACHI—Brisk ship­ping was ob­served at the port where six ships C.V Aanke, C.V MSC Vic­to­ria, C.V E.R Yoko Hama, C.V Al-Kharj, M.V Ki­ran An­to­lia and M.T UACC Iban Sina car­ry­ing con­tain­ers, 43,116 tonnes coal and 29,033 tonnes diesel oil were ar­ranged berthing at Qasim In­ter­na­tional Con­tainer Ter­mi­nal, Multi Pur­pose Ter­mi­nal and FOTCO Oil Ter­mi­nal re­spec­tively on Mon­day.

In the mean­time another ship C.V TG Po­sei­don with con­tain­ers also got an­chored at outer an­chor­age of Port Qasim. Berth oc­cu­pancy was main­tained at 67% at the port on Mon­day where a total of ten berths were en­gaged by ships namely C.V Aanke, C.V MSC Vic­to­ria, C.V E.R Yoko Black Purl -110 and M.T UACC Ibn Sina to load/off­load con­tain­ers, coal, canola seeds, soya bean seeds, LPG and fur­nace oil re­spec­tively dur­ing last 24 hours. Cargo through­put dur­ing last 24 hours stood at 83,021 tonnes, com­pris­ing 62,102 tonnes im­port cargo and 20,9119 tonnes ex­port cargo in­clu­sive of car­ried in 3,304 con­tain­ers (TEUs)(2.203 im­ports TUEs 7 1,101 TUEs ex­ports) was han­dled at the port.

Two ship C.V MSC Vic­to­ria and M.T Heng Xin sailed out to sea on Tues­day morn­ing while another ship C.V Al-Kharj is ex­pected to sail on same day af­ter­noon. Three ships C.V TG Po­sei­don, C.V Maersk Pitts­burg and M.V Ping An Song car­ry­ing con­tain­ers and project cargo are ex­pected to take berths at Con­tainer Ter­mi­nal and Multi Pur­pose Ter­mi­nal re­spec­tively on Tues­day.—APP
