Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI—Brisk shipping was observed at the port where six ships C.V Aanke, C.V MSC Victoria, C.V E.R Yoko Hama, C.V Al-Kharj, M.V Kiran Antolia and M.T UACC Iban Sina carrying containers, 43,116 tonnes coal and 29,033 tonnes diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
In the meantime another ship C.V TG Poseidon with containers also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Berth occupancy was maintained at 67% at the port on Monday where a total of ten berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Aanke, C.V MSC Victoria, C.V E.R Yoko Black Purl -110 and M.T UACC Ibn Sina to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, soya bean seeds, LPG and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 83,021 tonnes, comprising 62,102 tonnes import cargo and 20,9119 tonnes export cargo inclusive of carried in 3,304 containers (TEUs)(2.203 imports TUEs 7 1,101 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Two ship C.V MSC Victoria and M.T Heng Xin sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while another ship C.V Al-Kharj is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three ships C.V TG Poseidon, C.V Maersk Pittsburg and M.V Ping An Song carrying containers and project cargo are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday.—APP
