Na­jia de­clared best ref­eree in Khy­rougi

IS­LAM­ABAD—Na­jia Ra­sool of Pakistan the first-ever in­ter­na­tional ath­lete of Pakistan has been de­clared the best ref­eree in Khy­rougi cat­e­gory of Taek­wondo.

A nine-mem­ber Pak­istani contin­gent at­tended sem­i­nars and cour­ses in the Ho­hhot City, In­ner Mon­go­lia, China.

Nine Pak­istani ref­er­ees at­tended the 87th In­ter­na­tional Khy­rougi Ref­eree Sem­i­nar, 101st In­ter­na­tional Khy­rougi Ref­eree Re­fresher Course and 27th In­ter­na­tional Poom­sae Ref­eree Sem­i­nar.

The nine-mem­ber contin­gent in­cluded Mur­taza Has­san Ban­gash, Kam­ran Qa­mar Kureshi, Nadeem Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed, Malik Muham­mad Shahzad, Muham­mad Khur­ram Rasheed, Muham­mad Asad Yousuf Zai, Mr Tal­lah Ju­naid and Na­jia Ra­sool.

Amongst 500 In­ter­na­tional Ref­er­ees Mur­taza Has­san Ban­gash was de­clared the best ref­eree in Poom­sae cat­e­gory and Na­jia Ra­sool was de­clared as the best ref­eree in Khy­rougi cat­e­gory.

These ref­er­ees will now con­duct the Na­tional Ref­eree Sem­i­nar which will be held from July 20 to 24 here at Pakistan Sports Board.

The man­age­ment of Pakistan Taek­wondo Fed­er­a­tion (PTF) praised Dr Akhtar Nawaz Gan­jera, Director Gen­eral Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Has­san, Pres­i­dent Pakistan Olympic As­so­ci­a­tion (POA) for their sup­port and guid­ance.—APP
