LAHORE—Pun­jab Fi­nance Min­is­ter Dr Aye­sha Ghaus Pasha on Thurs­day said the in­cum­bent gov­ern­ment had ful­filled its prom­ises to pro­vide re­lief to the masses in the bud­get 2016-17. “Pre­sen­ta­tion of a pub­lic-friendly bud­get is a historic achieve­ment as un­prece­dented in­cen­tives are of­fered in the Pun­jab bud­get,” she told APP. The min­is­ter said Pun­jab bud­get 2016-17 was a de­vel­op­men­tal one and its salient fea­tures would cre­ate jobs, en­cour­age pri­vate in­vest­ment, curb ter­ror­ism and en­hance se­cu­rity of law abid­ing cit­i­zens. She said pro­vi­sion of qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion, health fa­cil­i­ties and wa­ter sup­ply projects to the masses was mis­sion of the gov­ern­ment. “We have put no bur­den on the com­mon man in the bud­get while pub­lic up­lift has been given pri­or­ity,” she said.
