Pesco nabs 31 de­fault­ers

PESHAWAR—Peshawar Elec­tric­ity Sup­ply Com­pany (PESCO) raid­ing teams Thurs­day seized 125 il­le­gal con­nec­tions be­sides ar­rest­ing 31 per­sons on charges of power steal­ing in the province.

As per the di­rec­tions of Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Pesco An­warul Haq Yousafzai, PESCO in­ten­si­fied drive against il­le­gal use of elec­tric­ity in the province and seized 125 il­le­gal con­nec­tions in dif­fer­ent ar­eas of the province, says a PESCO press re­lease here to­day.

The teams raided in dif­fer­ent ar­eas of Peshawar cir­cle and nabbed 85 il­le­gal con­nec­tions in­clud­ing a di­rect con­nec­tion of a mo­bile tower. Sim­i­larly, in City-2 sub divi­sion, Mar­dan teams nabbed three per­sons in Turu sub divi­sion, three in Can­ton­ment sub divi­sion-2 and eight power steal­ers in City-1 sub divi­sion, in­clud­ing di­rect con­nec­tion of Alkhair Bak­ery be­sides 18 in Ur­ban and Chadara sub di­vi­sions of Swat Cir­cle.
